First off, I have an 100lb American Bulldog so know that I have a beast of a dog built for pulling and chewing. After I first got him and had my hand torn up by rough nylon leashes I began looking around for alternatives and found these leashes in an REI. They. Are. Awesome. Fleece lined handle is totally smooth and, as I stated before, my boy’s a chewer and hasn’t even come close to wearing through this leash as some friends had warned me was possible with “fabric” leashes. All in all, Highly recomended. The one I bought here on Amazon was for a friend who just got an American Bulldog.

Love this leash. Great quality and really takes a good pull. Perfect if you have a medium or large dog. My only issue with this leash is the clip that connects to the collar. Nothing has happened with this one, but in the past, I’ve had issues with the spring mechanism getting loose and the dog being able to get off the leash. Instead, I use a carabiner or something similar, which you can pick up at any hardware store. Gives a little extra protection, in my opinion. Great leash though. The nicest I’ve had, with great colors you won’t find a lot of places.

Great leash! Very durable and strong. The fleece on the inside of the handle is a very nice touch. It’s great if you have a dog that tugs. Nylon leashes would dig into your hand, but this one feels nice!

First off I could see where “Maria” is comming from that the Leash was bigger/longer than I expected but for the Style I use to hold the Leash -as I wrap part of it around my left hand- I found it a VERY comfortable Leash that other Companies don’t make like that.
The Hardware appears very durable and well made, always happy to find quality Eco-Friendly Products. For it’s price, it can’t be beat. My only thing I suggest is that someone make a LONG retractable Hemp Leash as I haven’t found one yet.

I got this leash 3 years ago and it got lost when I kenneled my 45 lb dog. I did not realize how much I loved this leash until it was gone. I bought a standard nylon leash to replace it and absolutely hate it. Unlike a nylon leash, this planet dog leash is soft, so you can grab the entire leash when you need to pull back your dog without hurting your hands. It also bends freely and not stiffly like a nylon leash. The leash is thick enough so there is something substantial to grab when needed. The fleece lined handle is soft (and stays that way). The leash also wears great, after 3 years of use it was still going strong. Pet hair does not stick to it (I should know, my dog has lots of long hair). It is worth the extra money. I can’t wait till my new replacement leash arrives!
